Who is he?

Ali’s job used to be as a safety specialist at an oil and gas company. This means that most of his job was offshore, on platforms and ships.

While this is a very well paid job and he was earning a big income, even for Singapore, it came with many disadvantages.

The biggest one was that it took him away from his family. Then there was the nature of the job, being isolated for long periods, health and safety risks and generally, it’s not the most exciting job in the world.

So, out of an effort to spend more time with his family, Ali started a tuition center. He struggled for a while and then came to me.

Long story short, he grew his biz by 500% to 700% last time we’ve checked. Now he runs two tuition centers, quit his job in the oil and gas field and earns more, by staying home, working a few hours per week than he did before.

Plus, he has all the time to spend with his loved ones.

So how have we’ve done this?

There are three concepts at play here.

And I’ll explain them to you. Now, you may find them too easy.Too simply. You may ask yourself… is this all there is?

You’ve been convinced of a lie. Maybe the biggest lie in entrepreneurship. And this is…
COMPLEXITY = VALUE

That the more complex a business is, the more moving pieces it has, the better it must do.That your business must be as complicated as a Boeing 747, with millions of different pieces.

It’s false.
It’s actually a huge lie, the opposite is true.

Launching and running a business is built around a few very SIMPLE systems.These are so simple that anyone, even someone with no business experience can make them happen.

Complexity has nothing to do with it. It just comes down to a few simple pieces that may seem underwhelming but simply work.

So before you keep reading, make this promise to yourself… that you won’t dismiss this because it seems too easy.

It really just comes down to these elements.

I’ll reveal them here, free of charge, because you deserve to know them.

So what’s the first one?

Puppeteering.

What does it mean to be a puppeteer?

You’re not doing the work itself. You’re finding someone else to do the job.Your only occupation is marketing, getting customers.

Service fulfilment is done by someone else.

Ali is not doing the tutoring itself. He found people to do them and pays them only for the work delivered. So he doesn’t take any risks.

In this way, you don’t need inventory.You don’t need to pay for staff. You don’t need a big over-head each month, which is money you need to pay no matter if you make sales or not.

You just find the right people.
You send them customers, as I’ll show you in a second.

And you get paid a portion of what they charge.You don’t even need to pay them, they pay themselves and you earn a profit on the margin.

The next one are Facebook Ads.

There are many ways to do lead generation, which means bringing potential customers. You can do banner ads. You can do solo ads.You can do YouTube videos or Google Ads.

But there’s nothing as efficient as Facebook.Why? Because you can reach your exact ideal customer for pennies and talk with them in a manner that’s impossible on any other service.

The secret to Facebook ads is to have the right angle… to the right people… using the right offer.

If you get these three done, you’re set. What is an angle?

It’s how you approach your marketplace. It’s one benefit or one part of your product that you want to focus on.

Being cheaper than everyone else is an angle. Offering a longer warranty or a better money back guarantee is another angle. Doing something faster, better, in a different way than the competition, are all angles.

It is how you differentiate yourself without creating a dramatically new product. Let’s say you have a gym.
What angles can you take?

A gym just for men.
A gym just for women.
A gym just for weight lifters (no cardio).
A gym that offers a premium, luxury experience. A gym where you get private guidance.
A gym opened during the night.

All gyms are the same but your angle is what it’s unique (or seems unique). It’s like your personal style of clothing.
What constitutes the right people?

Those who would make for the best customers.They have the need. They’re looking for a solution. They have the money.

Imagine this.

You’re entering a room of 100 people.

You want to sell your product.

Some don’t need it.

Some can’t afford it.

Some already have it.

You don’t really want to pull these people aside and talk with them. Each conversation would take you time which is just as good as money.

So you go to those that would make the best buyers. And you sell to them. Directly.

Through FB ads, you can define exactly where your ads should go. Who they should reach. It’s like knowing exactly who is in that room and picking only the people who will pay you the most money.

This means you’ll be able to get leads for the lowest cost possible and you’ll maximize your conversion.

What is your offer?
It’s what you’re giving them.

It can be a free one hour tutoring. It can be a 50% discount. It can be a one plus one offer, where if they buy one product, they get one free. It can be a limited time one.The combinations are endless.

This is extremely important.

And all things being equal… the difference between having a very successful business and a one that is struggling is your offer.A simple tweak in what your leads are getting can double or triple your profits.

It’s that important.

The third element is something most people just ignore.You shouldn’t. Without it, nothing else will work. It’s like the KO move in a boxing match.This is sales choreography.
How can I explain this to you?

Most people who are not in sales believe that selling something is as simple as telling. Here’s the product, here’s the price, buy it.

After all, if people need something, they’ll invest in it, right?

And that’d be great, if purchasing decisions would be rational and people would act in their best interest. But as we all know, we don’t do that.

If we were like that, we’d eat salads instead of burgers, go for a run instead of watching NetFlix and invest our money to earn interest instead of buying a new $1500 TV.

People don’t buy something just because it’s good for them. So you must employ strategy.

You must structure your contact with them.When they get a first message.What it contains. Second message. What to tell them in order to close.

It’s like a dance.You schedule a few actions for maximum impact.These, together, give you the best chance to close the sale. And without sales choreography, even if you get leads, they won’t pay you.

These three were the tools employed by Aidil Ali.
Using these tools, he grew his business by a factor of 5 to 7 times.

Because he employed puppeteering, Facebook ads and sales choreography, now he has more time for his family. He actually has almost all the time in the world because last timeI’ve checked, this takes him maybe 5 – 10 hours to manage.

And all of these tools are available to you too.

You don’t need to spend years through trial and error to find what works. The truth is that whatever you want to do, someone else has done it, tried many things, found what worked.

You are not in uncharted territory. Getting to $5.000… $10.000 and even $20.000 per month is something that has been done again and again.

If you want to come with a product people want, you need a good angle.

If you want to position yourself as an expert, you need a good angle.

What Are Angles?

Let me explain.

An angle is how you approach your ad from a creative point of view. It’s what you want to focus on.

I’ll give you an example.

You’re selling a car, let’s say a Mercedes SL 65 AMG.

Here you have a few different angles you can use.

You can focus on the tradition of the Mercedes brand and how this is the best model they’ve ever created. This appeals to people who see cars more as art collectibles than actual tools to get you from A to B.

You can focus on the safety elements of this car. This will appeal to those who have children or who are safety conscious. Volvo built an entire brand focusing on this angle alone.

You can focus on the comfort and emphasize how no other brand can match this. You will appeal here to those who look for luxury and a good driving experience.

This list can go on and on from prestige to limited availability (people want to have a Ferrari not just because it is a cool car but because so few others have it) to the warranty and service.

It’s as simple as putting the lens on a specific feature or benefit of your offer that will appeal to your target market.

Why Are Angles Important?

When you brainstorm an angle, you’re creating a bridge between you and a specific audience. You are focusing on what makes your product attractive to the people you want to sell it too. Instead of taking a shotgun approach, where you try to talk about all that is good, you narrow it down to one specific thing that really hits home.

This allows you to accomplish certain goals, especially with Facebook ads.

First, you can match your offer with your audience. Instead of having a campaign that talks to everyone, about everything, you can talk about one important thing to one important group. This will lead to better conversion and far lower ad cost.

Second, you can sell the same product to multiple audiences. No product has a single angle. But instead of being so general you get the attention of no one, you want to match different angles with different audiences. 

Let’s assume that you’re a piano teacher.

What angles can you take?

You come to the student’s house, which is important for those who value commodity.

You provide free transportation to your house, good for those who don’t have a car.

You can teach him how to play a certain song in as little as 8 weeks, which is a goal-oriented angle.

You have been trained by a prestigious university which is a credibility angle.

You are specialized in training kids between 8 to 14 and you have an unique approach, which of course, will appeal to parents with kids between 8 and 14.

You offer 1 free session for every 5 paid ones or you offer a 20% discount if they order before the end of the month which are value angles.

Your natural instinct would be to present all of this at once. After all, it’s easier to cover the entire marketplace instead of using an angle.

The Problems With Being Too General

The first one is that people don’t really read ads. They glance over them and if your audience feels like this is EXACTLY for them, then they click. You’ll not really get the luxury of having someone scan through an ad until they find the benefit you desire.

Imagine this.

You’re in Hong Kong, in the crowded markets and you know no one. It is crowded, almost suffocating. Then you see a friend from back home. You say hi and even if normally you would not want to spend time with him, now, amongst strangers, his company is welcome.

This is what your ad needs to be.

It needs to be that friend in a crowd of strangers, the friendly smile that makes you stop from whatever you’re doing. And you can achieve that ONLY by being specific on the angle you’re taking. Generality doesn’t pay in online marketing.

And the second is purely logistical. 

You can write a single headline. This headline is short. This will be the point of contact with your audience. You can have as many angles as you want in your ad body copy (which I don’t recommend, I suggest you have a common theme from start to finish) BUT a single one in your headline.

This is true for your blog posts or Facebook ads or YouTube content or Google AdWords. You have limited space and you must get attention with it.

How Do You Create A Good Angle?

You find a good angle at the intersection between what your product does and what your audience wants the most. 

You must ask yourself…

“What benefits can I express here, regarding my product?”

Once you’ve made a list, ask:

“What of these are the most relevant to the audience that I’m selling too?”

You can also ask:

“Which of these will get the most attention or will come across as the most unique?”

I suggest that you start with benefits as that’s a sure way to get attention. Curiosity works as an angle but you need to be good at it and your ad must be congruent with it. 

You can say something like “James learned how to play the piano in just 4 weeks. Want to learn how he did it?”, which is a curiosity angle. However, experience taught me that going with a straight benefit works better in most cases.

Last but not least, once you’ve come with your idea, you want to transform it into a headline. Your angle or hook will almost always be represented through your headline. Once you’ve come with the headline, build the ad.

And as a word of caution, your ad must be congruent with your angle. You can’t get their attention with one thing and talk about something else later. You’ll just get them to leave your page. Sensationalism and “spicy” topics work great at getting attention but are awful at selling things. Don’t fall into the trap of doing that. The end goal is not to get your ad read, it is to make the sale.

To Review…

#1 – Angles are your creative approach to presenting your product.

#2 – Different angles match different audiences.

#3 – Without a good angle or better said, a good match with your audience, your ad will be ignored.

#4 – Curiosity, especially around stories work as an angle but it’s an advanced technique.

#5 – Once you’ve found an angle, transform it into a headline that gets attention and gets him to read the ad. Don’t sell through your headline, its only job is to get the rest read.

#6 – Avoid angles that are not congruent with your ad as they rarely work and may be taken down by Facebook or you’ll get a low quality score.

If you are to learn a single business skill to use for the rest of your life, and nothing else, this is closing.

This is because while FB ads are important, so other ads, so blog content, so your FB videos, nothing really happens until you get paid. And if you can’t close, then you will not get another person to pay for your product or service.

And you know what I’ve noticed?

Closing comes EXTREMELY unnatural for most people.

I can fairly say most people I’ve met are not closers. They don’t know how and they feel uncomfortable asking for money. I’ve even met people that would UNCLOSE a prospect. They’d have a person in front of them wanting to buy and they’d say something like “no, don’t decide now, let me know tomorrow”.

This blew the sale, because the potential buyer lost all confidence in the product afterwards.

But there’s good news here.

Even if most people are not closers, even if you may not be one, this is a skill you can learn with ease. You can double and even triple your ability to get people to pay you and you don’t need a lot of experience or to put a lot of effort in it.

I’m saying this because closing is easy to learn. You follow what works and that’s it. There are standard ways of closing, standard ways of countering objections you can follow from start to finish.

Once you build one for yourself, you can use it word by word and you would close with ease. Yes, it’s that simple.

The Principles Of Effective Closing

Let me teach you a few principles of successful closing. In this way, no matter what happens, you are prepared. And if you take these into account and remember them each time, you’re ready to get an order from someone, you’ll close most people that come to you.

#1 – Closing Is A Transfer Of Confidence

The dominant thought’s going through the mind of your prospect at the end of the sales cycle is “will this work for me?”.

We all have our doubts.

And we know that once we’ve paid for it, it will be very hard to get our money back, because of the refund terms or because we don’t want to go through all that effort. Also, we don’t want to be disappointed, to get our hopes up.

He may not express this directly. He may say “I don’t have enough money” or time or some other excuse. But more often than not, it’s just this doubt it will not work.

So when you close, you want to put his fear to ease.

You want to show him how it will work and paint a picture of the wonderful life after he uses your product. You want to show case studies from others that tried and achieved a wonderful outcome.

You may even bring the objection upfront and say something like…

“Look, I don’t blame you if you ask yourself if this will work for you. I ask myself this too each time when I buy something. But let me show you why it will…”

The opposite, the worst thing you can do is to plant seeds of doubt into his mind. He’s looking up to you, as a leader, to calm down the doubts he’s having. Don’t add doubts of your own. Sure, no product works 100% of the time but he knows that. When a couple falls in love, they know almost no couple ends up being always together but they go ahead anyway.

It’s up to you to infuse him with that confidence it will work.

#2 – Reverse Risk As Much As You Can

The ideal transaction is the one in which if it doesn’t work, he loses nothing and you also lose nothing.

For example, if you’re a coach and you offer a 100% money-back guarantee for the entire duration, that’s not really win – win. He can ask for a refund after six months and you’ve just wasted countless hours of your own time.

So when you design a guarantee, you want to minimize risk but not only on his side, also on yours. Getting back to the coaching example, you can offer a 100% money-back guarantee until the 2nd session. So if he is unsatisfied, he can ask for his money back after the first session is done. If he goes forward after that, then there is no refund.

And it is fair, isn’t it?

You should provide a guarantee. And it should be a fair one. But it needs to be fair for both parties involved. So what I like to do is create conditional guarantees. For example, you can say “if you implemented everything I’ve taught you (or even 50%) and it did not work for you, then you can get your money back”. 

While conditional guarantees will turn somepeople off, these are the same people that would have bought and asked for their money back right away. Also, if someone starts a sales conversation with “what is your money-back guarantee”, then that will be a problematic prospect. Be careful in working with those people, especially 1:1.

#3 – Remind him of all the great things he’ll achieve

Don’t even assume that your prospect understands how your product will change his life. You need to repeat what will happen after he buys and uses what you offer. Paint pleasing pictures of how his life will be different. Remind him of everything your product will do for him. 

You can also go towards more intangible benefits like the respect of others. You can tell him about how all will be in awe when he’ll finally achieve this goal or how others will see him as a role model and mentor.

Remember the basic rule of salesmanship, people don’t buy for what your product is, they buy for what it will do for them. You don’t go to the restaurant and buy a stake for what it really is but for the delicious taste you’ll experience and the sense of fullness that comes afterwards.

Basically, in the closing section, you’re not telling him much new but rather give him reason after reason for buying.

#4 – Appeal both to emotions and the intellect

There is a saying…

“A man buys for two reasons. The real reason and the one he tells his wife”.

Let’s think about a middle-aged man buying a Porsche 911. It is for the German engineering? It is for the 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds? Of course not. He wants to be admired and seen as a certain type of person. It is a status thing. Most products are built around status and prestige.

But he can not go to his friends and say “I’ve bought this Porsche because I don’t feel respected enough and I want people to know how successful I am”. He will say it is a good investment, a great car, great resell value and it will help him unwind, relax from time to time.

So when you are closing someone, give him two sets of reasons for buying.

The first set are the logical ones, the rationalization. This is what he uses to sell this to himself and to others. This is what he’ll tell his wife when he goes home and tells her he spent $5000. 

Use logic here. Show the ROI. Give strong logical reasons. They need not make sense as they need to appear legit. Keep it politically correct here. It’s pretending, it is rationalization. 

And then give the real reasons. Paint images of his life changing. Paint images of his dreams come true. Help him realize all the wonderful things that will happen and most of these have to do with his ego.

#5 – Get him to commit now

Each time your prospect tells you “I need to think about it” or “I need to talk with someone else”, there is a huge chance you’ll lose him for good.

Sometimes this objection is legit. Most of the time it is not. In both cases, the more space there is between the present moment and the time he takes a decision, the more likely for that decision to be no.

So what do you do?

You frame everything to get action at the moment.

It’s hard to do it while you’re closing so you need to pre-frame it. This means setting a few spots before or have a very attractive bonus if he orders right now. Having a reputation where you enforce your scarcity, so if you say there are only three spots remaining, you take only three clients helps a lot.

Customers believe they are in control. They know you want their money so most will think “well, even if I return tomorrow or next week or month, he’ll still sell it”. So establishing clear rules or giving fast action bonuses is the only way to push for action now.

“A Closing Template In Action”

Why am I not giving you a template instead?

Because there are many circumstances. Closing after a webinar differs greatly from closing in person. Closing a cold lead is different from closing someone who knows you for a long time.

If you apply the principles, you have a far better chance of closing in any environment than if you follow a specific structure. But if you want a specific structure, let me teach you the cross-road close.

So basically, your prospect has reached a cross-road and there are three choices. You present all three to him.

The first one is to do nothing and get more of what he’s getting now.

The second one is to do low quality alternative and struggle for years without the certainty of getting any results.

The third one is to use your product.

And then you present the consequences of each in action.

Let me show you how this would work for a fitness product.

“Look, as far as I see it, you have three choices.

You can stay where you are. You can decide to live a sedentary lifestyle and if this is what you want, good for you. But it is just a matter of time until you’ll start to have heart problems. It’s just a matter of time until you’ll start to feel the consequences of your bad diet and lack of activity.

Or you can join a gym on your own. This works too. This is what most people do. But you know what will happen? You go there and you’ll feel confused and self-conscious. You’ll do a circuit of a few machines and then you’ll leave. You’ll get nothing done in practice apart from getting tired. And because you’ll feel like all are watching you and judging you, you won’t come back again. Believe me, I know, I’ve seen hundreds of people in the gym go through this cycle, a few days of wondering around and then never setting foot again in the gym.

Or you can do the smart thing and work with me. I’ll create a program for you so you can grow as fast as possible, in the last time required. This works great because you’re using both logic and emotions, showing him exactly what will happen if he follows any other way than yours.

Now you know how to close, apply all these rules (and the close I’ve taught you) so you can get by more people, more often.

Well, sometimes I do but if you’re just starting out and you want to stand out, here are a few tricks that you can use to make your video be seen and appreciated. All of these you can do at home or hire someone for cheap on Fiverr to do them for you.

So here are my tricks on how to make your Facebook videos from GOOD to GREAT.

#1 – Add A Subtitle

Most people don’t play audio from their phone. This is because they’re in a public space or there’s noise around or maybe they don’t feel like it.

So by adding a simple subtitle, you increase the chance that your video will be consumed dramatically.

How do you do this?

There is a simple tool online called Kapwing (kapwing.com) that allows you to upload your video and to manually add subtitles. It’s very intuitive and anyone can use it. But if you don’t want to bother with it, there are many providers on Fiverr that will transcribe and add a subtitle for just $5.

Or you can follow the easy option.

If you upload your video on your Facebook Page, then you will have three options. You can write the subtitles yourself, upload an SRT file or even have Facebook auto-generate this for you.

The auto-generated subtitle is not the best, but it is accurate 80 – 90% of the time and it is better than not having one at all. 

How do you do this?

Once you upload your video, click “Subtitles & Captions (CC)” in the column to the right”. You’ll be presented with these three options. Once you click “auto-generate”, it will take maybe 3 – 4 minutes to complete it. 

What about YouTube?

It’s almost the same. Publish a video. Click the edit menu. Pick “Subtitles and CC”. Click “Language (Automatic). That’s all. Now your video will have beautifully auto-generated subtitles.

#2 – Make Your Videos Beautiful

You need not know video editing. You need not buy something like Sony Vegas or Final Cut Pro to make your videos look professionals.

Actually, there are apps for your iPhone or Android that will do this for you. All you have to do is to click one button and it will take care of everything for you.

The first one is A COLOR STORY APP. 

The beauty of this app is that it gives you different filters you can apply to your videos to give them an unique look. It’s like using the editor on Instagram, just more powerful and easier to use. Oh, and you can also crop your videos directly in the app.

The second one is CHROMIC.

Do you want to make your videos have that cinematic, high quality look?

Don’t run to the shop to buy a $5000 camera. Instead, just download Chromic and apply one of its filters. 

The third one is VIDEOLEAP.

Do you know Enlight?

It’s one of the best photo editing apps right now. It can do some amazing tricks and get you the same results as if you were paying a $200 – $300 to a photo editor, for a single photo. Well, Videoleap is an app from the same company as it is just as incredible.

There are some incredible control tools but what I really love is the ability to pixelate certain areas of your video. So if you do a tutorial and you don’t want to reveal passwords or any personal information, use this app and it will take care for you.

It’s incredible what apps can do nowadays, aren’t they? In the past, you had to be a seasoned video editor to do even basic things. Now, it is enough to download an app and make your videos stand out.

#3 – Get An Intro

You pick what you like, tell your designer what you want and in just a few days, you’ll have a beautiful intro you can add to all your videos.

And you can just use the apps I’ve told you about before to add this section before your main video. You need not download the video to your computer and edit it there. 

Look, as long as you have a simple phone with a camera, you can create beautiful videos. While good lighting and such is nice, you can correct almost all flaws in your video with free and very cheap apps. The only thing remaining for you is to take action, to record your videos and to put yourself out there.

Once you do that, 80% of the work is done.

My point here is that if you want to record good videos that bring sales in and that build a name for yourself online, you don’t need a DSLR pointed at you and some professional director calling “cut!”.You just need your basic phone or laptop camera and you’re ready to go.
But what if you want to make PROFESSIONAL looking videos without knowing video editing and all that stuff?
What if you want to look as cool as professional media agencies without spending anything?
I’ll give you three tools. It’s incredible that these are free or very cheap because just a few years ago, you’d have to pay hundreds of dollars on professional software to get the same thing.
The first one is the LEGEND APP.



You know what it does?


You write some text and it animates for you. Basically, you can pay $50 or $100 per video for someone to do this or use this free application to do it for you.


You can use it for social media, for getting attention to your posts.

You can use it for your landing pages to act as a cool video sales letter (it’s so much better than PowerPoint slides!)

You can even use it as a profile video to have that EDGE over everyone else, to be interesting, to get attention.

Last but not least…

Did you knew that your phone can record its screen?

I think you need IOS 11 on Apple devices and a new version of Android to do so. You just press record and it records everything that’s happening plus your voice, only if you want.


And on Android, you have so may choices, just enter “screen recorder” and you get a dozen good options, although the default one rocks!

How do you use this?

For tutorials.

Instead of telling people how to run a Facebook campaign, show them. Run it on your phone or tablet. Instead of showing them how to plan their day properly, go through this, step by step.

Seeing is believing and if one photo is worth 1000 words, one video is worth 100 photos.

I never shared it before because I was afraid that my competitors will steal it and use my competitive advantage. But I want YOU to have that competitive advantage too so here it goes.


A few months ago I needed some graphic design done for my website. So I’ve found this company and they’ve asked me $200 for a single image! I needed two dozen.

Since this seemed a good price I was about to pay when a friend told me about Fiverr and how this guy there does this mind-blowing graphic design for just $5. So I went to Fiverr, hired him and indeed, he is amazing.

I’ve actually bought a $200 design and compared it to the $5 one and the $5 design is BETTER in every single way to the $200 one. Strange world, isn’t it?

And that’s not all. Each time I need something done, I go there. New logo? Fiverr. Transcription? Fiverr. Editing a book? Fiverr. I’m saving 90% and more of the costs that everyone is paying.

So if you want to get $5000 worth of services for as little as $125, get an account and use it on a daily basis. I just hope that not too many of my competitors will see this now.


Web design is for nerds.

4 – WordPress

I don’t know HTML or PHP or JavaScript or whatever. I don’t even know what these means, I’ve done a Google search and these popped out. But too many people believe that in order to have a good online presence, you need to be some tech wiz. 

Not really.

Imagine this and be prepared to be amazed.


You click one button.Your entire website is installed.You follow a link you receive by email and you have back-end access.You can write pages, add posts and more.

Then you go to the themes section and you enter “business” or “education” or whatever is right for you.Tens of thousands of themes will show up! All are free! Once you press “install”, your simple generic website will look like one that costs $5000 or more to design and install.

And the total cost to you?

Nothing.

Nada.

You get a world class website for $0.And if you’re as lazy as me and you don’t even want to bother installing this by your own, then hire someone off Fiverr for $5 and he’ll find the theme and do everything for you.Yes. It is that SIMPLE.
Wait.

I’ve got something else for you.

Another great feature of WordPress (that’s free too) are plug-ins.

Without getting all technical on you, these are add-ons you install easily which make your website whatever you want it to be.

You want good SEO? Install the SEO plug-in.


You want to take appointments on your site? There’s a plug-in for that.

You want your website to have a membership area, restricted to non paying members? Guess what, there’s a GREAT free plug-in for you to use.

So here are the top FIVE PLUG-INS I love using on WordPress.

1 – JetPack. Install this and your website becomes superman. It makes it faster, it improves how it looks, it makes your photos easier to load, it makes it impossible to hack and a lot, lot more.


If you install just one plug-in from this list, do this one. It’s like giving steroids to WordPress and transforming it from a skinny kid into the Incredible Hulk.

2 – Yoast SEO. I’ll make this one simple for you. Pay $500 for an initial SEO setup of your website by an “SEO Exper t” or install this plug-in and get EXACTLY the same thing. So if you want to save $500, install this one. It’s as simple as that.

3 – Google XML Sitemaps. SEO is complicated and I don’t want you to bother with it. But there is a low hanging fruit which are sitemaps. If your site has one, then you rank higher.


And to get a site-map, just install this plug-in and it will do it for you automatically.You need not do anything else.

#4 – Google Analytics. If you’re not tracking your numbers, as how many people came to your website, how much time they spent and so on, you need to start now. 


There are many paid solutions that cost hundreds of dollars each month but Google Analytics is FREE and it is the best amongst all of them.This tool alone made me tens of thousands of dollars in new insights and decisions.

5 – Social Icons. Do you know how some ar ticles have a bar with “share this on social media?”. It’s simple and straightforward and this plug-in helps you add this automatically to all your posts.


There are more plugins you can use but if you use even just these five, you’ll have a website that will be the envy of all your competitors.

5 – WhatsApp

Some people like to close by email.

Others in person.

I don’t. I believe email is too slow and I don’t have the time to close in person. So I use texting and services like WhatsApp.

The secret here is that whatever you’re selling, get their phone number.Then get in contact with them through a text message. Don’t do it by email. Nobody reads email nowadays or very few people do.

But we all still check our texts.

So why am I saying you should use WhatsApp compared to texts? Because you may travel and WhatsApp works on wi-fi online. Maybe you’re in a place with poor phone coverage but you have wi-fi. Or maybe you don’t have roaming activated

(although if you do what I say, you’ll afford to pay for roaming and not even care about it).

It’s more evergreen, more universal.
And you want to know what closing system I use?

How I make the money come in?

I was reticent to share this before but I’ll do it now, just because I want you to be able to close as easily as I do.

There are only three steps to it. I’ll go into greater detail in another post but here it goes for now, as a sneak peak.

STEP 1:You’ve generated a lead.You’ve got a phone number. Congrats. All the hard part is done.The rest is easy and fun.

STEP 2:Answer their query but also drop a very important question.

“Btw, what’s your WhatsApp number? I’ll send you more info there”.

You want to get as much access, close access to your lead as possible. If you already have their number, then skip this.

STEP 3: Start a nurturing sequence via WhatsApp. I won’t reveal this here as I don’t want this post to be too long but I promise I’ll reveal it in the future or maybe in a special report.

So yeah, these are the FIVE TOOLS I use to run my online business from anywhere.


While all the other things I do are nice, I can still make sales, create value, help people only with these. If you left me on a remote island with just a phone, a solar charger and a good Internet connection, I’d still be able to earn five figures per month by using these tools alone.

So c’mon, get them and put them to work!

A few years ago I went to the Phillipines.

It’s a beautiful place, you should check it out. Great for the Internet Lifestyle for reasons I’ll tell you in one second.

I was at a Starbucks, watching a YouTube video when a saw a young woman running a PPC campaign, a Facebook ad campaign.

Since I’m always eager to hire good people to work with me and since this was a strange place to see someone run a FB campaign, especially since she was in her early 20s, I’ve introduced myself and asked what she is doing.

The story is the building block of engagement.Without stories we have only facts and facts are boring. Nobody buys because of facts. Even the most analytical nerdy guys in the world don’t buy just because you present them facts.

We all buy because of emotions and stories are naturally designed to trigger them.

So when you write your next post, write a story and then transition to your product or service. It’s the closest thing to posting a photo.

Now let’s move to…

“RULE #2 – Make It A CONVERSATION”
There is a wonderful place for reference content.

You can write as much about ideas in a dry and sterile manner and people will praise you. You may even get paid for it (although it’s illegal).

You know what that place is?


It’s called WIKIPEDIA.

That’s the only place where you should write reference content.

On Facebook, make your posts a conversation between you and your prospect. Write your post as if you were writing a letter or a text to an old friend.You’re sharing ideas, emotions, feelings.

You’re giving a part of you through the writing.

I believe that the strongest Facebook posts can be copy / pasted on WhatsApp or Messages and would pass completely for a personal message.

Actually, you can even test this through this way.

I call it the “text message” acid test.

If you copy / paste your social media post and send it to a close friend, does he feel like this was meant for him and not for an audience?

If the answer is yes, you’ve got a great message. If the answer is no, keep trying!

So no “us” or “people” or “It is being said”. Be human. Be conversational.Talk with the person in front of you. It’s not “ideas should be expressed in a conversational manner”. It is instead “You need to write in a way that is conversational”.

I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal and none of these rules are that complicated.They’re actually very simple. But if you do this, you’ll see a huge increase in conversion. People that never engaged with your posts before now will jump on the opportunity to like and comment your stuff.


And yes, it’s that simple.

TALK to a single person.

And now the third rule.

This one is simple.

I know it from public speaking. Actually, if you go to a place like Toastmasters where they teach you public speaking for free, you’ll learn this in some of your first sessions.

You’ve guessed what it is?
“Ask For ACTION!”

It’s to always end your speech with a call to action. Here, always end your message asking them to do something.

And what is that something?

Well, it can be to follow the link below and go to your website to buy your stuff.That’s an excellent call to action. But you can also ask them to leave their comments or engage with your stuff.

But my rule is simple.

I don’t ask likes.

I don’t ask comments.


I can’t go to the bank and deposit my likes on my VISA bank account.

I don’t use a call to action or I ask them to visit a link. I believe in the power of direct response copywriting and how each marketing piece I write must help me achieve two things.

1 – Help improve the life of another human being…


… preferably in a HUGE, SIGNIFICANT way.

And…

2 – Make a sale.


I don’t always get to make a difference and I don’t always make a sale but this is how I write my posts. I don’t write to get likes. I write to make a difference and to sell quality products and services.

This is all.

See, I told you you need not be a brilliant writer to write content that pushes that needle towards what you want.You need to apply proven strategies.

And if you do these, you’ll see something incredible happen.

You’ll get interest.

You’ll get the engagement.

You’ll be like a bright white spot on a dark sky.You’ll stand out.And this means that you will also make sales which means money in the pocket.

If not, let’s move to the next solution on the list.

So the one I suggest is CRAZY EGG.

It’s so simple that even someone like me can use it and it gives you a lot of options.You can see where your visitors move their mouse, how they scroll, where they click and more.

It’s harder to install it but you can just go on fiverr.com and pay $5 to someone to install it. It will be worth it, I promise it.

What others options you can use?

Well, you have Mouseflow.This is brilliant for a feature called FORM ANALYTICS.

You know why is this good?

Because it shows you where one gives up on completing a form, like an order form or a survey. So if you see many people giving up when they’re about to order, now you can see exactly what’s bothering them and what you need to do, what you need to change.

You also have LUCKY ORANGE.

I like this one because it’s easy to use.


Or you can use INSPECT LET.

This like TABLEAU is for nerdier people. But if you really want to understand what’s working and what’s not, it offers you funnel analytics, helping you make tweaks that double or even triple your sales.

If you don’t have a website… or a landing page, then don’t do this.

It’s a complex solution.This is for marketers who have done the basics and got the machine running. It’s like adding a tuning chip to your 600 HP supercar. It makes little sense to add the same chip to a small Fiat.

If you’re there, give heatmapping a chance.

It builds a visual story of what your visitors are doing.

You’ll know where they click which tells you where they’ve decided.

You’ll be able to know where they are stuck or where you lose them.

You’ll know where they are bored and left your website and where you need to strengthen your copy.

And since most of these services cost something like $10/month, you have no excuse towards not making this happen.


So yeah, this is the ADVANCED tip for today. It may not be for everyone but for those who are, go for it.

Know ANYONE who has created more success stories than I have in Singapore?

And I’m not the only one. I’m in good company. Based on what Dan Fu has to say, almost every major coach and author in Singapore sucks.

So what’s his deal?

Is he a frustrated chump with too much time on his hands? Was he wronged by me and now he takes it to social media? Is he right?

No. 

The truth is a lot simpler than this.

He is a sophisticated marketer and as you’ll discover in a second, a sociopath, that used to earn tens of thousands of dollars on my back and the back of other reputable marketers.

This is because he employs what’s known as “black hat marketing”.

What’s that?

Well, people look for my name. I’ve spent almost a decade of my life building a reputation for delivering quality products in and outside of Singapore. I can’t say that I’m a brand name but there is a lot of traffic coming from Google and Facebook based on this search alone.

And instead of actually working to build his own lead generation system, he piggybacked on mine. Basically, people look for me, end up on some article or post that criticizes me and then he pitches his own product.

What product would that be?

He used to sell a get rich quick FOREX scheme. 

Yes, that scammy “do nothing at all and you’ll triple your money in a few weeks” type of appeal. The kind where hard-working men and women with no FOREX or investment experience deposit their money and soon discover that the fund has been emptied, the company shut down and all their savings are in some bank in the Marshall Islands, with the police not being able to do anything about it.

Yes. This guy, was making sales of a scam product using the reputation and goodwill that I and many other coaches slowly built over a lifetime.

He was bashing my name everywhere he could, on the Internet, on Facebook, because people would search for my name and get to his page. And because of this, he gets free traffic.

On my back.

On my brand.

He was selling products to people that were looking for me. He was telling them what they want to hear (instead of the harsh truth that success takes effort). He told them that all they have to do is invest their money and they’d be rich in no time.

Myself and other well-known coaches and authors were his primary lead generation machine. Smart, isn’t it?

But wait, this is not all.

No. This is just the appetizer compared to what I will tell you now.

What would you do if tonight you’d return home from your business, tired, eager to get rest and you’d find a blackmail letter? A letter in which someone threatens to ruin you and your reputation unless you pay him exactly $471.555 USD?

Would you go to the police?

That’d be the best choice. But what if the police does nothing, ignores this and treats this as a “mild” event while you’re keep getting these letters?

You’d get mad?

You’d pay?

You’d hire someone to deal with this for you?

This sounds like the scenario of a movie. Something like Goodfellas. Something like “pay us 20% of what you earn every month or we’ll break the windows of your store”.

But it’s no mobster movie. There’s no Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro here. It’s real. And it’s happening.

Two years ago, I’ve been under constant attack by this lowlife. He came to my house. He attached letters to my door. He’s even been caught by CCTV camera.

Yes. The same guy that posted negative reviews about me, to get traffic to his own offered, took it up a notch and advanced to extortion. 

Now don’t get me wrong…

I’ve been in this field long enough to know not everyone likes me. For every 100 people I make happy, there is someone that will hate me because my products are too expensive or he doesn’t like my tone or attitude or he doesn’t like my face. 

Good marketing polarizes people. To end up with your own tribe, you must upset a few people. It is just how business works.

So every few weeks, I get three page email from someone who may or may have never bought my products, explaining me why I suck. It’s cost of doing business. 

Everyone in this industry from Kiyosaki to Tony Robbins goes through this.

You learn to live with this.

But here, this guy, is different. 

He didn’t limit himself to emails. He didn’t limit himself to expressing his frustrations and letting steam off. 

Nope. 

He saw one too many gangster movies and blackmailed me for about half a million dollars under the threat that he will hack my systems and destroy my business. 

And you’d think this is the worst thing, right?

Not even close. 

Losing what I have would be a bad thing, I admit it, but it was about the safety of my family. My wife and my daughter. He knew where I live. I bet he knew about the two most important people in my life too. And while Singapore is a safe country, call me human but I’m afraid of having them harassed. Or worse.

And worse, the police was seemingly doing nothing.

I had CCTV footage.

I had eyewitnesses. 

I had IP addresses that can be tracked.

If I had an unpaid parking ticket, then I’d have the police’s attention right away. My family and I were threatened by what I can see only as a sociopath and which may had follow through with his promise, and nobody paid attention.

My friends told me to fight fire with fire. To use people who know how to deal with such low lives. 

But this is Singapore and not Congo or Columbia. I’m a business coach and not some Russian oligarch. If I do anything outside of official channels (which seems to not do anything at all), I’ll be in more issues than him. It’s Singapore. We thrive on order and doing things right.

So yes, this is the untold story of what happened to me in 2016. 

I’ve kept it a secret, told it only to family and friends but I must warn other people in this industry and my market alike.

I must reveal the toxic nature of some people online and how far they’re willing to go to succeed. 

For this guy it wasn’t enough to trash my name. He also wanted half a million dollars. Eventually, all ended up fine and I even received an apology letter from him but believe me, it was a hard fight.

I did what you must do with every bully.

Stand up to him and fight back. So he backed down, eventually.

And unfortunately, while he’s done, others took his place.

These guys are not so creative though.

You know what’s their MO?

Build fake profile with photos of hot girls and try and trash me through comments. If you five minutes taking a look at these profiles, you know they’re fake. If you spend 30 seconds doing a reverse image search, you’ll discover the photo is stolen from Google Photos and it’s usually of a porn star.

I wish this was a joke. It’s not. I’ve actually done a reverse image search.

Does this look like a real profile? 

Well, maybe you don’t believe me. Then let me do a reverse image search and see what we discover. You can do this too.

Look what I’ve found.

Her photo is found on 50 other websites. Of course, it has nothing to do with “Jeanna Aung”.

But people who don’t have the time or the energy to search, may actually believe her. Yes, this is the world of online marketing in 2018 – 2019, unfortunately. 

So why am I telling you all of this?

This is because you may come across people like him (or even him), online. You may see Facebook posts (not ads, as they would shut ads down right away) bashing me and other reputable marketers.

When you see this, remember that we’re not talking about a dissatisfied customer here. We’re talking about a black hat marketer that uses a negative angle, hurting me, to sell his scams and unfortunately, many people believe him. He understands a painful truth of human nature – the bigger the lie is, the easier it is to sell.

While this guy backed down, toxic sociopaths like him are everywhere.

So the next time you see an ad like “is ABC or XYZ a scam?”, ask yourself if this is an upset person or just some lying scumbag trying to earn some money on the back of a famous marketer.


And if you’re in the situation I was, as a coach, as a marketer, as an authority figure, don’t back down. Don’t pay. Seek legal action. Talk to a good lawyer. Talk with the police until they take action (you’ll need a lot of patience here).

These are bullies.

These are the stupid bullies in the schoolyard.

And the best thing to do with a bully is to fight back. To show him that you’re not afraid and that he can’t pick on you. If you do this, you’ll inspire others to do the same thing.

In 2017, I was brought to Small Claims Court by this “Daniel Fu” and during the arbitration process, he admitted that he was behind the entire thing, not only to the police but also to the court. I could have pursued for a newspaper apology, but decided instead to let the matter rest. But at least, i got him to email me an explanation in 2017.

And one last thing…

Let’s say that you’re a bit skeptical. Sure, it’s in my best interest to put myself in a good light. And no, I’m not perfect. But instead of listening to what some people with a screwed moral compass have to say about me, come to one of my events.

It’s fine if you don’t want to take me on my word but before you believe black hat marketers like him, see with your own eyes. 

Since 2016, I’ve invited many people who fell for this form of negative marketing to learn the truth. And while not all of them became customers and some decided I’m not their cup of tea, all of them agreed that everything that was posted online was false and that I deliver massive value.
